Contagious Illness Information

Chicken Pox

Chicken pox is a virus that causes a rash with a "blister" appearance. The accompanying symptoms include: slight fever, lack of energy, and red spots (which at first resemble pimples, then change to blisters which break and scab over, usually appearing on the trunk of the body first), and itching. Incubation period is 2-3 weeks.

If your child shows these symptoms, please keep him/her at home. Chicken pox is a highly contagious, usually mild disease.

Your child may return to school after all blisters are scabbed over and dry, and free of fever for 24 hours.

Please report this disease to the school nurse at 480-982-1110 ext 2707.
