HomeWork Ideas: Read, read, read!! Listening to stories and talking about books helps your child get ready to read. Have your child find letters and words that they know! Letters & sounds: Keep practicing your letters and sounds, we don't want to forget any of these for they are the base of our reading! Make flashcards on 3 x 5 index cards using the capital and lowercase letters we've learned and play a fun memory or matching game! Numbers: Practice numbers 0-10, have them share our number poems that help them remember how to write them! Writing: Make grocery lists, write notes to eachother, have them write about their day! Write about fun Halloween or Fall events, family visiting, and friends. Writing is very important and they are so great at it! Count! Count when you walk, count items in your home, count roadsigns on your trips...keep counting! Most importantly, stay involved and HAVE FUN!! :) Mrs. Hickey |
